Performs professional veterinary work under the supervision of a Veterinarian to maintain the health and safety of animals. Examines all animals and their specimen for disease/illness and assesses treatment thereof. May perform euthanasia on animals as directed by the Veterinarian. Assists the Veterinarian in spaying and neutering of animals. Performs laboratory tests, including urinalysis, blood and fecal examinations. Performs common custodial duties designed to support a clean, healthy, safe, and organized work environment for Oakland County facilities and property. Sweeps, dusts, and damp/wet mops floors. Vacuums carpeting, dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture and fixtures, and empties wastebaskets. Cleans and stocks restrooms with supplies. Under limited supervision, performs law enforcement functions within the jurisdiction of the Oakland County, including Parks System. Investigates and reports to supervisor accidents, complaints, and other incidents. Responds to disturbances and maintains order. Rides a horse to patrol park paths and trails, as well as other areas that cannot be accessible by other forms of transportation to enforce park rules and regulations. Apprehends disorderly persons.
