Announcement Information

NOTE: This position is part-time, non-eligible and will be limited to 1,000 hours/year.  Assigned work projects will utilize county-standard software including Microsoft Power Suite (Automate, Apps), SharePoint Lists and SQL.  

General Summary

Are you energized by data and excited to turn insights into actions that shape unforgettable park experiences? As a Parks Data Analyst, you will help drive strategic decisions across Oakland County Parks and Recreation by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from multiple sources. From point-of-sale trends to social media analytics, financial reports, GIS data, and community surveys, your work will directly support park operations, programming, marketing, and long-term planning. This role is perfect for someone who loves numbers, storytelling through data, and creating meaningful impact in the community.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Use County and department software systems to gather data, monitor performance, and support strategic planning.
  • Analyze and interpret data from POS systems, web analytics, surveys, financial reports, GIS platforms, and external sources.
  • Develop clear and visually compelling reports, charts, dashboards, and graphics to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with parks leadership and cross-functional teams to understand analytic needs and provide actionable insights.

Required Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application, applicants must:

 

1. a. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, data science, computer science, mathematics, parks and recreation or related field of study.


b. Have at least three (3) years of experience in data analysis projects; OR

 

2. a. Possess an Associate’s degree or equivalent amount of education from an accredited college or university with course work in statistics, database management, data analytics, or website management; AND


b. Have at least five (5) years of experience in related data analysis projects

Pay Range

USD $33.94 - USD $45.48 /Hr.
