General Summary

If you’re energized by big-picture thinking, strategic problem-solving, and work that directly influences how public services are funded and delivered, this role is an exciting opportunity to make an impact. In this position, you will take the lead on some of the County’s most complex and high-visibility budget programs, helping shape policies and financial decisions that support our community.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Take primary responsibility for managing major budget programs such as Fringe Benefits, Revenue and Non-Departmental Programs, Financial Committee Coordination, or Budget Forecasting.
  • Serve as the budget lead for one or more assigned departments, building strong partnerships with departmental leaders.
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate departmental operations to assess funding needs and recommend appropriate resource levels.
  • Work collaboratively with Human Resources to review and recommend organizational structures and staffing allocations.
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral budget recommendations used in departmental operations and decision-making processes.
  • Assist departments in developing, managing, and maintaining their budget plans and spending.

Required Minimum Qualifications

What You’ll Need:

 

1. Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Political Science, or a related field.

 

2. Have had three (3) years of full-time work experience in financial analysis, business administration, general accounting, cost accounting, economic analysis, systems analysis, personnel administration, or related area.

 

NOTE: A Master's degree in one of the fields listed above may be substituted for one (1) year of the work experience described above.

Pay Range

USD $70,603.00 - USD $94,595.00 /Yr.
