General Summary

Do you take pride in providing excellent customer service while keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes? As an Office Support Clerk Senior at the Oakland County Friend of the Court, you’ll serve as a key point of contact for the public, helping individuals navigate child support programs and court procedures with professionalism and care. This position requires strong clerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully in a fast-paced environment. Every day, your work will help families access important services and ensure the accurate flow of information across the Court.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Greet and assist the public in person and by phone, providing information about child support programs and services.
  • Review, process, and enter information into databases with accuracy while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Prepare letters, forms, and official correspondence following established department procedures.
  • Perform genetic testing and maintain familiarity with State of Michigan policies and procedures.

Required Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application, applicants must:

  1. Be a high school graduate OR have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) Test.
  2. Have had at least two (2) years of full-time clerical work experience.
  3. Pass the total examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
  4. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
