General Summary

Are you passionate about and experienced in sustainability? If so, come join our growing team! In this role, you will support the Office of Sustainability on project-based initiatives by conducting background research, acquiring and analyzing datasets, and translating findings into clear educational materials and practical recommendations. You will assist with public engagement, coordinating outreach, preparing presentations, and capturing feedback, and keep the County’s internal and public-facing sustainability content accurate, current, and user-friendly. Using countywide and department-specific software, you will track progress, visualize results, and streamline workflows to help deliver measurable environmental and community benefits.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct background research, acquire datasets, and analyze results to inform OOS projects and recommendations.
  • Translate findings into clear educational materials, presentations, fact sheets, web content, and keep internal and public-facing sustainability pages up to date.
  • Coordinate public engagement activities (outreach, events, presentations) and document feedback to refine programs.
  • Provide staff support for programs, projects, and events that advance energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste reduction, green infrastructure, and climate resilience.
  • Track progress toward County sustainability goals and KPIs; maintain dashboards, reports, and documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings and meeting materials; attend meetings, conferences, and workshops as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications

What You'll Need: 
 
1.Possess an Associate’s degree or equivalent education from an accredited college or university with a major in Sustainability, Public Policy, Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related field of study.
 
2. Have had at least two (2) years of full-time experience in sustainability.
