This is an appointed position within Oakland County.

General Summary

Are you passionate about legal analysis and eager to work at the heart of the judicial process? As a Judicial Staff Attorney at the Oakland County Circuit Court, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Court’s mission of justice and fairness. You’ll assist in resolving complex civil and criminal matters, offer legal guidance to judges, and help ensure courtroom efficiency and compliance. This position offers the opportunity to sharpen your legal reasoning, refine your writing, and contribute directly to meaningful decisions that impact the community.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct detailed legal research and draft pre-hearing reports, Opinions, and Orders on complex legal issues.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and legal insight to support judicial decision-making.
  • Facilitate settlement discussions and advise parties on the strengths and weaknesses of their positions.
  • Coordinate chamber operations and docket compliance with court procedures, laws, and administrative directives.
