What You’ll Need:
Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Have had at least two (2) years of full-time increasingly responsible public health or community nursing work experience under professional nursing supervision.
NOTE: A Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Public Administration or closely related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of the public health nursing experience.
Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.
Be Great If You Have:
1. Reasonable knowledge of the practices, procedures and specialized terminology relating to nursing care.
2. Reasonable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other facility employees, medical staff, volunteers, and the general public.
3. Reasonable ability to communicate under adverse conditions with distressed individuals and ability to make routine decisions in accordance with division policy and procedures.
4. Some practical nursing experience in a hospital, doctor's office, or nursing home.
5. Completion of a certified medication course, desirable to administer medications and injections.
6. Physical condition that will permit lifting, standing and/or walking for extended periods.
1. Must maintain a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan.
2. Must submit to immunizations as requested by the Department of Health & Human Services and to periodic tuberculin skin tests or chest x-rays at County expense.
3. Must obtain and maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
4. Must maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.
5. Before beginning employment, candidates will be required to provide Children’s Village with documentation from the Michigan Department of Human Services that they have not been named in a central registry case as the perpetrator of child abuse or child neglect. In addition, applicants being considered for hire will be asked to sign a form authorizing Children’s Village to request and receive a criminal history check in accordance with the privacy act of 1974.
Applicants for positions at Children’s Village will not be considered if they have been convicted of either of the following: (a) Child Abuse or Neglect. (b) A felony involving harm or threatened harm to an individual within the 10 years immediately preceding the date of hire.
