What if you could be the difference in the lives of children and families across Oakland County? As a Domestic Support Specialist, you’ll guide families through complex legal processes to establish child support orders and determine paternity. Working with referrals from the Michigan Department of Human Services/Office of Child Support, you'll review case records, conduct interviews, and draft essential court documents. This role combines client interaction, legal analysis, and public service to ensure timely, fair, and accurate case resolutions in line with state and federal guidelines. If you’re detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to serving your community, this is your chance to support stability and justice for families who need it most.
What You’ll Do:
Conduct interviews with parents and attorneys to gather case information and facilitate support agreements.
Review referrals and legal records to determine jurisdiction, paternity, and support obligations.
Draft and file court documents, including consent judgments and complaints.
Use the Michigan Child Support Formula to calculate fair and accurate support amounts.
