General Summary

Responsible for the overall coordination of an assigned Parks & Recreation facility within the County Parks system in the absence of the Park Supervisors. Directs staff according to established procedures and makes decisions that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation related to customer service, operational or emergency procedures. Responds to customer inquiries and escalated customer situations. Ensures that assigned staff adhere to all appropriate operating procedures. Accounts for fees received, maintains records and provides input and recommendations regarding budget proposals and expenditures. Supports the staff and operation by working a pre-determined assigned on-call schedule that includes coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a year-round basis. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Required Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application, applicants must:

 

1. a. Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business, Hospitality, Recreation, Communication, Management or a related field; AND
 
b. Have had at least one (1) year of full-time work experience in the management of a park or recreation facility or in the management of a business that provides services to customers; OR
 
2. a. Possess an Associate’s degree or equivalent education from an accredited college or university with a major in Business, Hospitality, Recreation, Communication, Management or a related field; AND
 
b. Have at least three (3) years of full-time work experience in the management of a park or recreation facility, or in the management of a business that provides services to customers; OR
 
3. a. Must be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) Test; AND
 
b. Have at least five (5) years of full-time work experience in the management of a park or recreation facility, or in the management of a business that provides services to customers.
 
4. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.

Special Requirements

Must maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.

Pay Range

USD $52,378.00 - USD $70,177.00 /Yr.
