Under general supervision, provides direct clinical and consultative professional public health nursing services to County residents, long term care facilities, and other community partners. Contributes to improving outcomes related to communicable disease (CD) by: 

Conducting CD investigations including foodborne illnesses, vaccine-preventable illnesses, vector-borne illnesses, and other emerging and re-emerging infectious pathogens. 

Providing teaching/ counseling to community members regarding CD transmission, prevention, and treatment.

Serving as an expert liaison and resource for community agencies and healthcare providers. 

Collaborating with epidemiologists, health care provider offices, hospitals, urgent cares, and laboratories to facilitate CD reporting and surveillance. 

Providing infection control consultation for community partners such as long-term care facilities via virtual and in-person site visits. 

Utilizes current County-wide and/or department-specific software to complete assignments.
