Under general supervision, conducts preliminary inquiries with schools, police, and other agencies to gather background information to identify behavioral/emotional problems. Conducts assessment interviews with children and families, performs crisis intervention and follow-up with children and parents, and recommends treatment alternatives which address the particular needs of the client. Prepares reports and progress summaries, refers clients to, and consults with, other programs offered within the community, provides information regarding program services and procedures, and is responsible for case management. May be involved in recruitment, training and working with interns. Functions as liaison with residents, families, courts, referring/placement agencies, police departments, Children's Village School and community schools. Facilitates resident group and individual sessions, as well as adult parent education classes. Conducts home and community visits. Facilitates reentry process from admission to release, maintains reentry documentation for file post release. May be required to work an adjusted schedule involving evening hours, weekends, and to respond to emergencies during off-duty hours. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
