Announcement Information

This is a part-time non-eligible position limited to 1,000 hours per year.  

General Summary

Employees of this classification perform routine, manual and/or clerical customer service duties, assisting higher level employees involved in the operation of recreation equipment.  Supports recreational programs such as special events, campground activities and mobile recreation, including the transportation, set up, maintenance and supervision of inflatables, climbing towers, zip-lines, and retro games activities. Interacts with park visitors of all ages.  Communicates with staff, volunteers, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.  Responsible for proper work procedures and safety practices. May be assigned to a day, afternoon or midnight shift, during weekdays, weekends and/or holidays to meet staffing requirements and perform duties as assigned. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  1. Be at least 16 years old and a high school graduate; OR have completed the State requirements for a G.E.D. certificate; OR be an emancipated minor; OR have passed their 18th birthday.

NOTE: When assigned to Golf Course Grill rooms or Beverage Cart, must have passed their 18th birthday, per the State of Michigan, due to the sale of alcoholic beverages.

  1. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license. Out of country driver’s license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver’s license before the hire date.

  2. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.

  3. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.

Special Requirements

Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur’s license.
