This is a part-time non-eligible position limited to 1,000 hours per year.
Under limited supervision, assists the supervisor in the administration and operation of a County park which may include campgrounds, concessions, county market, day use parks, dog parks, golf operations, off road vehicle park, park and pavilion rentals, waterparks, or other recreational facilities. When assigned to the County Market, interacts with market visitors and vendors by answering questions and assisting with the daily customer service at the market. Maintains order of the market and ensures vendors and patrons follow the market policies, rules, and regulations. Opens and/or closes the market. Cleans the market and inspects stalls after closing to ensure that vendor have left the area in a neat, clean, and orderly condition. Operates point of sale computer system to collect rental fees, handles cash transactions, makes change, provides receipts, and ensures that transactions are processed in computer system correctly. Deposits monies in the bank and maintains accounting books and records of transactions as requested or directed by higher level staff. Responds to inquiries of vendors, patrons, and the general public, in person or by phone, email or mail, regarding the use of the market. Provides information regarding fees, rules, and regulations. Makes reservations for the use of specific rental areas. Assists with programs and special events designed to increase patronage of the facility as needed or requested. Directs the arrangement of vehicles on market grounds as needed. Assists with facility upkeep including cleaning bathrooms, picking up and taking out trash, sweeping/mopping floors, organizing supplies and store rooms. Maintains records on supply inventories as directed by higher level staff and provides input on purchase of additional inventories. Enforces the rules and regulations of the Parks and Recreation Commission with the aid of other park employees and deputies assigned to the facility. Cooperates with the State Agricultural Inspectors in enforcement of regulations governing the sale of agricultural and processed food products. Communicates with emergency officials as needed during an incident. Completes all incident reports required and works with Risk Management representatives as needed following an event. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
