Announcement Information

This is a part-time non-eligible position limited to 1,000 hours per year.  

General Summary

Employees of this classification perform routine, manual and/or clerical customer service duties, assisting higher level employees involved in the general maintenance and operations of County owned and operated golf courses. 

Pro shop duties include waiting on customers, the sale, inventory, and notification for purchases of articles, and helping to maintain the pro shop in a neat and orderly manner.  Processes transactions in person and over the phone on a point-of-sale computer system including renting golf carts, lockers and other equipment, scheduling tee times in person and on the phone, and announcing tee time launches.

Provides customer service to golf course guests such as assisting with the sale of pro-shop merchandise. 

 

Cleans, stages golf carts for customer use and returns them to the cart barn after use.

 

May assist on the golf course as a starter/ranger to manage the flow of traffic and ensure that players follow the rules and etiquette of the course. May also provide customer service to players with any issues they may have while on the course

 

May assist guests with food and beverage services at the grill room, concession, and beverage cart locations, taking food and beverage orders, preparing, and serving orders in a courteous manner and recording the transaction into the parks software to provide an accurate sales receipt.

 

MUST BE 18 to work in a Grill Room and serve alcoholic beverages.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  1. Be at least 16 years old and a high school graduate; OR have completed the State requirements for a G.E.D. certificate; OR be an emancipated minor; OR have passed their 18th birthday.

NOTE: When assigned to Golf Course Grill rooms or Beverage Cart, must have passed their 18th birthday, per the State of Michigan, due to the sale of alcoholic beverages.

  1. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.

  2. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.

Pay Range

USD $15.42 - USD $15.42 /Hr.
