General Summary

Under close supervision, performs entry-level clerical work following standardized, well-defined departmental office procedures. May perform the following tasks depending upon the assigned division: maintains filing systems for departmental records and documents, types, enters data, proofreads, assists in basic record keeping and calculation assignments or performs other routine clerical work as assigned. General Clericals are appointed to underfill higher level vacancies such as Clerk, Office Assistant I or Office Assistant II. This classification is used for part-time noneligible appointments only. Utilizes current county- wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  1. Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test.
  2. Pass the examination and the employment medical established for this classification.
  3. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.

Pay Range

USD $16.88 - USD $19.86 /Hr.
