This position is Grant Funded.
Provides high levels of interpersonal skill and computer ability with a detailed knowledge of department procedures. Provides reception services and in-depth information by communicating with the public, using tact and diplomacy. Is skilled in the operation of MicroSoft Office software, document production, and with complex department specific software applications. Receives and reviews a large amount of paper documents and computer files. Using a computer, searches and retrieves records, inputs data and compares to source documents to detect errors or omissions and corrects as necessary for complete accuracy. May provide sole support to an operational unit. When assigned to Information Technology, may receive and inventory equipment, deliver equipment to appropriate party, and prepare unused equipment for auction or recycling. Exercises judgement and knowledge obtained on the job and takes action to correct unusual deviations. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
At the time of application, applicants must:
1. Be a high school graduate OR have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) Test.
2. Have had at least two (2) years of full-time clerical work experience.
