Functions as a subject matter expert in utilizing Sheriff's Office software applications, third-party applications, database systems and technology to complete assignments. Maintains and updates large, mission critical database systems utilized for immediate information needs of upper-level staff, in addition to specialized divisional reports. Researches, compiles, and analyzes information and data specific to assigned area of specialty. Develops/edits reports, orders, policies, and formats as requested by upper-level Sheriff's Office staff. May Review/edit documents, videos and recordings utilizing FOIA laws and requests, and perform background investigations for the Sheriff's Office and Fire Departments. May work with police agencies, cities, villages, and townships based on assigned location and elected officials throughout the County. Works with Information Technology to resolve technical software and hardware problems. Completes payroll duties, orders offices supes and maintains inventory for assigned area. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

A background investigation will be conducted covering an evaluation of employment, school, home, credit, criminal, military, or other personal records. Any conviction or convictions for moving traffic violations, accidents, non-moving traffic violations, or violations of other laws will be reviewed by the Sheriff’s Office before an applicant can be appointed. Information obtained during the background investigation will be considered in the hiring decision. Convictions of the Domestic Violence Statute will be a disqualifying factor.
