Announcement Information

This position is based at the North Oakland Health Center and requires travel to provider offices throughout Oakland County. Some remote work is possible. 

General Summary

Nurses in the immunization Action Plan (IAP) unit play a vital role in the "behind the scenes" work to increase vaccination rates across Oakland County. In this role, nurses provide education and support on immunization best practices to provider offices, schools, and childcare centers. While this role does not encompass direct patient care, the rewards come from impacting vaccination rates on a population level and, therefore, contributing to the well-being of our community.

Required Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application, applicants must:

 

1. Be licensed by the Michigan Board of Nursing to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Michigan.

NOTE
: A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university is preferred.

NOTE: Applicants possessing transcripts from a college or university outside of the United States will be
required to provide documentation of degree equivalency from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (http://naces.org/members.html). The degree evaluation will be required for application processing.

2. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for this classification.

3. Successfully complete the six (6) month probationary period.

NOTE
: Applicants who are eligible to be licensed by the State of Michigan and who meet the other requirements listed above may take this examination but will not be eligible for appointment until they have been licensed by or possess a valid permit from the Michigan Board of Nursing.

Special Requirements

1. Submit to immunizations as required by the Health Division and to tuberculin skin tests or chest X-rays at County expense.

 

2. Maintain current registration with the State of Michigan Board of Nursing.

USD $27.41 - USD $35.59 /Hr.
