Responsible for supervising and coordinating a comprehensive hearing and vision screening program to Oakland County residents through schools, clinics, and partnerships with external service providers. Evaluates internal procedures and policy to ensure compliance with State requirements. Assesses the current service and needs of county residents and submits recommendations to administration. Ensures hearing and vision program and staff are compliant with Michigan Department of Health & Human Services accreditation standards, and state regulations. Ensures safety and confidentiality compliance procedures are followed. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
At the time of application, applicants must:
1. Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in Public Health, Health Education, Public Administration, or a related field of study.
2. Have had at least four (4) years of full-time work experience in public health, health education, project management, or other related experience.
NOTE: A Master’s degree in a field of study listed above may substitute for up to two years of the required experience.
1. Must submit to immunizations as required by the Department of Health & Human Services and to periodic tuberculin skin tests or chest x-rays at County expense.
2. Must pass periodic criminal background checks and prior to employment.
