General Summary

Is responsible for being the central source of information released by the Prosecutor’s Office. Responds to requests for information from the news media around the clock, coordinates the release of information about criminal cases, responds to requests from information from the community. Assists in crisis situations within the Prosecutor’s Office and coordinates the release of authorized information concerning confidential cases. Remains on-call for command news media support to all divisions during off-duty hours. Utilizes current countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Required Minimum Qualifications

1. Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a preferred major in Marketing Communications, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related field of study.


2. Have four (4) years of full-time professional work experience in public or private sector public relations, communications, or a closely related area.


NOTE: A Master's degree in one of the above fields may be substituted for one (1) year of experience required above.

Pay Range

USD $77,386.00 - USD $103,683.00 /Yr.
