General Summary

Under limited supervision, checks, verifies and prices a variety of documents for recording purposes. Assists the public and title companies in the completion of transactions pertaining to the Real Estate Unit. As an expert clerical employee of the Division, answers general inquiries regarding divisional or unit procedures. Processes the redemption of Sheriff deeds, and as requested, calculates and provides the dollar amount needed to redeem a Sheriff or Clerk deed and documents this action. As needed, assists other units of the Register of Deeds Division. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Required Minimum Qualifications

All Applicants Must: 

  1. Be a high school graduate OR have a certificate of successful completion of the General Education Development Test.
  2. Have had at least two (2) years of responsible full-time clerical experience, one (1) of which included processing court documents or real estate documents.
  3. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for the class of Real Estate Recording Clerk.
  4. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
